The Hive Gallery showcases the Coronado District’s talented artists
During the All Greater Coronado Art Show things will be buzzing at The Hive Gallery in the Coronado District. Starting with a reception from 7pm to 10pm on September 20th to kick-off the event, the Hive Gallery sits smack dab in the middle of the District and has been host to art openings before but none as varied as this. The paintings, photography, sculptures, re-purposed, practical and wearable art of 20 residents will be shown.
The hosts for the art show are Julia and Steve Fournier, owners of The Hive Gallery, and longtime Coronado residents.
“We knew there were artists hiding in Coronado,” said Julie Fournier, “so we decided to have an art show to flush some of them out. The hope is to bring out neighbors to meet neighbors.”
Adrian Fontes, also a resident, will provide the music playing Spanish guitar. And the Central Phoenix Home Brew Club will have Coronado concoctions to sample.
The All Greater Coronado Neighborhood Art Show runs from September 20th through October 13th. For the closing night of the show, The Hive Gallery has invited musicians from the neighborhood to play throughout the night.
The Hive Gallery is located at 2222 North 16th Street. All ages are welcome. The event page can be found here.
