| “Outside The Lines” |
I was in Blaze Tempe recently when I noticed some photographs on the walls. I really enjoyed the style of the pictures, the lighting and subject matter were just so bold, but I had no idea who the photographer was. I moseyed on over to the flyer/ business card table and began looking when a certain card caught my eye: a standard size, glossy-white card that simply read “FUCK YOU.” When I turned the card over it read, even more cryptically, “IMUSTBEDEAD.COM“. Just then, the gentleman behind the counter informed me that the card I held was indeed the card for the photographer whose work adorned their walls. I looked Mckay Jaffe up immediately.
1. Who are you and what do you do?
Fuck man I spend every day trying to figure out who I am and what I do, honestly I have less of an idea now then I did in the years before. I suppose it sounds weird to some people, but part of my lifestyle and being an artist is being lost a lot.
2. How did you get your start?
I went a bought a shitty point and shoot camera for me and my girlfriend to go on trips, but she left me eventually, and I just had it sitting around the house and tried to take some interesting photos with it. now I’m fully knee deep in this shit, no idea how it happened!

3. What inspires you?
Good music, Good movies, Good people, Good Food, Good Sex, Good Drugs, Good Days. Bad Music, Bad Movies, Bad People, Bad Food, Bad Sex, Bad Drugs, Bad Days.
4. What do you like about Arizona?
I like it because it has a lot going on without the congestion of a big city. And sweating, I love sweating all over myself!

6. What would you like to accomplish before you die?
Long spurts of happiness, I don’t know from what or how, but just happiness for extended periods of time would be nice.
7. What’s your mantra?
As I walk with the roses, and no worries come ahead, I know at this moment, that I must be dead.
