Tucson’s Lenguas Largas came up to the Valley on Nov. 7th to play the Crescent Ballroom with Pissed Jeans and Gay Kiss. If you missed the show, you missed out so we decided to offer up this summertime single from the band to really stick it in. They’re just that good. “Kawasaki Dream” comes to us from Come On In, a LP released through L.A.’s Recess Records back in August. Listen to “Kawasaki Dream” here for free and consider making the purchase for the full album. A worthy investment, indeed.
“Creeper”
I’m super digging this unexpected number from The Echo Bombs. Brooding, edgy, and animated, “Creeper” made for a well-matched Halloween single. This marks the first single from the band’s forthcoming album, King of Uncool, recorded by Jalipaz out at Audioconfusion. “Creeper” has us ready for the rest of the album. That show will be happening December 12th at The Trunk Space with Playboy Manbaby, Snake!Snake!Snakes!, and The Thin Bloods so mark you calendar. Until then, listen to “Creeper” from The Echo Bombs here.
Okay, so it’s an oldie but a goodie in two ways. First, this is a cover of a classic Ramones’ song that most of you will (or should) know. Secondly, this track recorded by the Lust-Cats of the Gutters several years back was an internet treasure the band dug up and shared through their Bandcamp page. “Judy is a Punk” is a fun cover for your playlist from Denver rockers Lust-Cats of the Gutters. Listen here and then join us in the wait for more music from the band.
San Diego has some rad punk bands and Western Midwest is one that happened across our electronic path, thankfully. Feisty and high-energy, Western Midwest has some dark undertones so don’t go expecting some run-of-the-mill SoCal rock group. This power trio throws down. Listen to “Dancing Alone’ here and consider checking out some more singles from the Western Midwest.
Captain Samurai is all set to release their debut album this week at The Trunk Space. That’s right, kids, on November 15th Captain Samurai will be joined by Leonardo DiCapricorn, Red Tank!, The Ricardos, and Del Funland to celebrate the release. “All I Need is Uuu” is the first single from that project and you can listen to all the warm, fuzzy, home-recorded goodness here. And don’t forget to catch the band live on Saturday at The Trunk Space!
