Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Isaac Caruso. I’m a muralist and creative director born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. For the last 10 years I’ve done graphic design, but recently left my director/partnership position at a local website and technology firm to pursue art full time.
How did you get your start?
I’ve been drawing since I can remember, but I really fell into art when I discovered graffiti around the age of 15. Since then, my fascination with graff/street art and has transitioned into a career in public art.
What inspires you?
90’s music, camping, fishing, running, my friends and girlfriend, music festivals, winning, failing, and the reward of pushing myself to new limitations.
What do you like about AZ?
I like that it’s home, and I like that I can be an influential figure here.
Where can we see you(r) work?
A lot of places, but if you’re in Tucson I did a piece downtown on Fifth and Scott, in Phoenix on the North wall of Fastsigns on 7th Street and Virginia, and this fall I’ll be making a piece on the island of Svalbard, Norway in the northern most township of the world, Longyearbyen. I have countless other murals, and I personally can be spotted at the Coronado on an almost daily basis.
What would you like to accomplish before you die?
A mural on every continent.
What is your mantra?
$Get rich or die tryin$
